Super Eagles: Lewandowski says Poland deserved to win

Poland face South Korea in their next friendly on Tuesday, March 27.

Poland captain Robert Lewandowski has stated that his side did not deserve to lose 1-0 in a friendly match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday, March 23.

Lewandowski was in action for 66 minutes as the Super Eagles defeated their hosts via a penalty converted by Chelsea's Victor Moses.

Speaking after the defeat the Bayern Munich striker stated that Adam Nawalka's men did not deserve to lose to the Eagles.

He said, ”The friendly match will definitely be a lesson for us and we will be able to draw many conclusions from it."

The 29-year-old who earlier revealed the reason for playing the Super Eagles, was of the opinion that his team had a goal disallowed after the ball crossed the line.

Lewandowski who was given a hard time in defence by William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun stated that he and his teammates will learn from the defeat as they continue their preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

He said, “These are friendly matches, so it’s hard to compare, there will definitely be other matches at the World Cup.”

Lewandowski and his teammates continue their preparation when they take on South Korea, the Super Eagles also play Serbia in another friendly encounter on Tuesday, March 27 in England.
