1. Early Life

 

Abinye David Jumbo better known as Mr 2Kay was born in Port Harcourt. His family later relocated to Bonny Island where he grew up.

2. Education

 

Mr. 2kay got admitted into the University of Port Harcourt to study Visual Arts but had to defer because of financial constraints. He then got a job at the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas company where he worked for a while before he venturing to music.

3. Career

 

In 2011, Mr. 2Kay got signed to Grafton Records after the discovered his amazing singing talent. He became a very popular artist in the city of Port Harcourt with the release of his single 'Waterside Boy'.

Mr 2Kay from that point has gone on to release a number songs which have become hit songs. Some of his hit songs include 'Bad Girl' and 'Belema'. His debut album 'Waterside Boy' was  released in 2012. In 2016 he released an EP titled 'Count It All Joy'.

4. Relationship

 

Mr. 2Kay's romantic relationship wasn't known until the rumours start to spread of him being romantically linked to former Big Brother Naija contestant, Gifty. Mr. 2Kay confirmed that he had an affair with Gifty, the beautiful BBN contestant has come out at different times to deny its existence.

5. Controversy/Scandal

 

Mr 2kay is not known to be a controversial singer but as we know being a celebrity comes with a lot of surprises. Mr. 2Kay was a performer at a show held at Eko Hotel and Suites in October 2017, after this performance, he was attacked and robbed in his hotel room with the assailants carting away with his expensive jewelry and money.

In a twist to the story, some suspects were arrested and they confessed to having been sent by musician, Burna Boy who is said to have a personal beef with Mr. 2kay. The suspects claim they received 100,000 Naira in total to carry out the attack. Burna boy has been invited by the police and is yet to show up.
