IAAF World Championships: Team Nigeria Day 6 review (Wednesday, August 9)

Nigerian athletes Okagbare and Brume competed in the Women's 100m on the Day 6 of the IAAF World Championships.

Nigerian athlete Blessing Okagbare made it to the final of the Women’s Long Jump at the ongoing IAAF World Championships in London.

Having failed to reach the final of the Women’s 100m, Okagbare’s only chance of a medal remains in Long Jump.

She made two valid jumps with her second of 6.51m enough for her to finish second in her group and 8th overall.

The Delta State born athlete will be in action in the final on Friday, August 11.

Okagbare’s compatriot Ese Brume could not qualify after jumping a distance of 6.16m, 6.29m and 6.38m in her three attempts.

She could only manage a 10th place finish in her group and 17th overall.

No Team Nigeria athlete will be in action on Day 7 (Thursday, August 10).
