The governor enjoined Nigerians on increase charitable manners, perseverance and spiritual intercession for the nation.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of godliness, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence in their relationships during Sallah celebration and beyond.
Tambuwal made call on Thursday in his Eid-el-Kabir message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Malam Imam Imam, made available in Sokoto.
The governor enjoined Nigerians on increase charitable manners, perseverance and spiritual intercession for the nation.
He congratulated Muslims on the celebration of the 2017 Eid el-Kabir and described the celebration as “a period that honours the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son to show submission to Allah’s command.
“As we’ve read from the Glorious Qur’an, just when Ibrahim was about to kill his son Ishmael, Almighty Allah (SWT) put a sheep in his place.
“Muslims use Eid el-Kabir to celebrate Prophet Ibrahim’s complete obedience to the will of Allah and as a reminder of our own willingness to make sacrifices in obedience to Allah.”
