On this day in 2015; Governor Gabriel Suswam of
Benue State, pleaded with the civil servants and those who felt he
failed to meet their expectations for forgiveness.
Suswam made the plea at the inter-denominational valedictory
thanksgiving service in his honor at the Chapel of Grace, Government
House, Makurdi. The governor siad: “Please forgive me for my inability
to meet up with your expectations as the Governor of Benue State.
“But always remember that I had good intentions for civil servants in the state as shown in the 100 per cent salary increment I approved when I took over in 2007

Also on this day in 2015;President General Muhammadu
Buhari and governors elected on the platform on the All Progressives
Congress were at loggerheads as Buhari asked the governors to steer
clear of his ministerial list.
Equally on this day in 2014;Former Nigerian
President in Kigali spoke as a member of the Africa Progress Panel at
the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank , emphasised the
need to invest in technology to modernise agriculture in Africa and
increase access to affordable finance for smallholder farmers. He said
this is required to increase productivity. noted that though few farmers
have access to finance, the cost of it is still excessively high with
interest rates ranging between 18 and 20 per cent.
And on this day in 2012;The former Minister of
Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji, accepted that there was a “gross” deficit in
the electricity tariff in the country but promised that the reform in
the sector would take care of it. The minister said this in Abuja at a
meeting with the Trade Union Congress (TUC), the former Minister of
Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, the National Electricity
Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the NLC.
