Senate: 30 CEOs appear before lawmakers over alleged N30trn fraud

Senate Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff; and Marine Transport, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

The CEOs of the companies, including Globacom, had been summoned by the Senate probe panel but they were said to have refused to honour the invitation.

The Chief Executive Officers of 30 companies allegedly involved in the N30 trillion fraud in the import and export value chain have appeared before the Senate.

According Punch, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Chairman of the Senate Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff; and Marine Transport, confirmed the CEOs' appearance on Wednesday, August 9.

Only 33 out of the 63 of the accused companies had honoured the initial invitation by the Senate.
