Nice Confirm Signing Of Wesley Sneijder On Free Transfer

French club Nice have signed former Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder, a free agent, on a free transfer.

The attacking midfielder has signed a one-year contract with Lucian Favre’s side, who were defeated 1-0 by Saint-Etienne on the opening day of the French season.

Sneijder’s move will also see him link-up with former Inter Milan team-mate, Mario Balotelli.

Wesley Sneijder arrives in France having had a decorated career across Europe, winning the 2010 Champions League with Inter, and played in the 2010 World Cup final in South Africa.

He started his career in his native Holland with Ajax before joining Real Madrid. After two years in Spain, Sneijder was signed by Inter before moving to Turkey in 2013.

Nice finished third in Ligue 1 last season and face Napoli later this month in the Champions League play-off.
