Obedience

Obedience is submissiveness to and observance of the rule of law and constitutes authority. It means adhering to rules and regulations, instructions, and also commands even though they might not conform to one’s philosophy.

Life as we know requires law and order to keep it in balance. When law and order do not exist, chaos is unavoidable. A virtue that is “obedience”.

As youths here on camp, the second of the bugle that wakes us up everything to the clarion call that has brought us here ranks may seem unpleasant to us, but it is noteworthy that a call to service is a call to obedience.

My fellows corps members and compatriots in National Service, we may be patriotic, have integrity and be disciplined; we may be dedicated, have commitment and courage; we may have good team work, be united and loyal; but in all these, if we are not obedient, our lives will be devoid of progress.

 A ship that will not obey the helm of its captain will surly hit the rocks. Therefore, make obedience your watchword.
