Lucas Perez has handed in a transfer request at Arsenal.

Lucas Perez found his opportunities limited after joining last summer and now has an eye on next year’s World Cup.

His agent has confirmed his client has handed in a transfer request to leave the club after struggling for game time under Arsene Wenger.

The striker is seeking regular first-team football after scoring seven goals in 21 appearances for Arsenal last season.

And following the £52m arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, the 28-year-old appears to have slipped further down the pecking order.

The former Deportivo La Coruna star’s agent, Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle, believes Arsenal’s price tag is too steep.

He told Goal: “€15m (£13.4m) is an expensive price.

“Lucas wants to go to the World Cup and be happy at a place where he has opportunities to play.”
