Jim Iyke says it is wrong for President Buhari to have been out of the country for so long.

Nollywood actor Jim Iyke joined the #ResumeOrResign protest today, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in Abuja.

Jim Iyke addressed a bunch of reporters at the protest and he said that it was wrong for President Buhari to be out of the country for over three months.

He also said it was time for Nigerians to wake up and make the country great again.

"What we are asking for is simple- we are not saying we individually came here to elevate our lives. We are saying collectively that 'enough is enough'" said Jim Iyke.

He also added "You cannot a country from outside another country for 94 days. It is not possible. We have turned to the caricature of the world. Has anybody seen CNN of late? Did you not see what they had to say about our great nation. We were once the giant of Africa but now we are the joke of Africa. It is time we wake up."

Popular veteran entertainer Charly Boy took part in the protest yesterday and was attacked by anti-riot policemen.

Charly Boy claims he was hit with the butt of a rifle on his eye. “Before we knew it, they started with the water cannon. Then they tear-gassed us and set their dogs against us. Worried, I went to one of the policemen who was standing near me and asked him why they resorted to such action. Instead of responding to me, he suddenly raised the butt of his gun and hit me in the eye" he said.

Charly Boy was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment. The veteran entertainer also revealed that a journalist was allegedly beaten up at the venue of the protest.
