"Insecure": HBO renews show for season 3

"Insecure" still has a secured spot at HBO as the network has renewed the Issa Rae's comedy series for season 3.

On Tuesday, August 9, 2017, HBO renewed Issa Rae’s breakout series, "Insecure," for season three.

Issa announced the new season renewal with a video on Twitter.

Rae's character on the show has earned her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a comedy series.

Created by co-star Issa Rae and writer Larry Wilmore, the comedy series looks at the friendship of two black women in a unique, authentic way.

As they deal with their own real-life flaws, their insecurities come to the fore as together they cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences.


In a recent interview with The Cut, In an interview with The Cut, Yvonne Orji spoke about what the season has for her character, Molly.

She says the season is more about evolution for Molly, who will discover what some of her issues are and how she can handle them.


"Insecure," which stars Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji and Jay Ellis returned for its eight-episode second season on July 23.

HBO also renewed the Dwayne Johnson-led comedy series "Ballers" for Season 4.
